2/20/2022 NOTE to READERS: As you read the following, please understand that it is purely analytical. This writer wants to encourage independent thought and evaluation. We need to open discussions and allow opinions that do not agree with ours. The only words that I would say are pretty much absolute are in the following first paragraph.
War doesn’t determine who is right, only who is left. It doesn’t matter who initiates the conflict or what kind of conflict is initiated – physical, chemical, biological or via the use of technology and cyber warfare. The results are ALWAYS the same.
War is costly to the masses, extremely profitable for those who have the money and power, and devastating to the environment and the populace.
President Biden has been beating the war drums and making threats to Russia. Russia has been blamed for cyber attacks on the United States while ignoring cyber attacks from other “players”. The United States has actually launched cyber attacks against its own citizens in the form of creating databases for crime, medical information, DNA, gun ownership, land ownership, IRS, facial recognition software, spying on U.S. Citizens and more. These may not be actually labeled cyber attacks, but the effects are the same when people’s personal information is placed at risk with these databases. If we don’t believe these databases put citizens at risk just ask anyone who has been affected by the hacks on these databases and has suffered identity theft, theft of property, medical mistakes due to incorrect information contained in these databases, the loss of personal privacy and more. It doesn’t matter who is doing it, the results are the same.
The CIA has been conducting covert operations for years as is evidenced by the recent killing of the ISIS leader. The United States has been beating the war drums around the world. So the question is how can we believe anyone when it comes to our safety and security?
The President believes that the United States exposing all the Russian troops and where they are building is helping the people of Ukraine and NATO Allies but what are we missing? This writer doesn’t believe the United States understands strategy. Putin is a chess player and as long as he can keep our attention focused on the Ukraine, he is free to follow through with his true intentions, which only he and his closest associates know.
Putin has met with the Chinese President and we don’t know how much alliance he has with North Korea. The way this writer views all of this is that the U.S. can look forward to an attack on our soil in the very near future. The attack could be in the form of cyber warfare, biowar, physical warfare, or even economic warfare. North Korea has been testing missiles for years. China has its biowar research in Wuhan and other areas of China and even in the USA. Russia has the military power and closer access, not only to Europe but the U.S. on our extreme northern borders. Russia also has the largest nuclear capability so the real threat, as I see it, is if Russia joins with China and North Korea to attack the USA and NATO forces. Russia has been providing support to countries in the Mideast and we can’t be sure that Iran will not join forces with Russia.
An interview with the Russian Ambassador, Anatoly Antonov, on Face the Nation this morning was very telling. The Ambassador stated that the U.S. has military bases all over Europe and the world and that Russia has a right to put troops anywhere on its own territory. He said that the United States and NATO are considered threats to Russia. Russia wants agreements in writing.
This is a very dangerous game the United States is playing. The U.S. has shown so much weakness in the past that this writer almost laughs when Biden threatens sanctions on anyone. We, just like Russia, had to leave Afghanistan with our tails between our legs. We have wasted our best and brightest on a 20 year war in Afghanistan. We accused Iraq of weapons of mass destruction and we have our own destruction of peace in the U.S. via the crime wave, the COVID pandemic, the lack of employees to fulfill the gap in goods and services and Biden’s shut down of the Keystone Pipeline. Furthermore, the U.S. is weakened by the backlog of ships and ability to get goods into the country. We no longer manufacture the majority of our goods and therefore the shortages will cripple us in our ability to retool in case of war. We need raw materials in order to manufacture goods. The shortage of computer chips should have warned us of our potential vulnerability. The increasing trade deficit should be “a shot across the bow” when it comes to a warning about our vulnerability.
American companies should always be on alert. China has consistently stolen information and technology. Our dependence on technology has effectively crippled our ability to take adequate actions to protect ourselves. Hacks on our subway systems, our electrical grids, our databases, even our intelligence agencies and spy networks makes the US vulnerable.
We have “unseen enemies” in the form of “silent partners” who are power brokers and have the ability to finance large scale cyber attacks that can cripple every country, especially the United States. The United States has been so focused on control over the years that we have lost sight of the real needs of our country. Our citizens have become so dependent upon computers and technology that we have trouble surviving when our electric grids fail and our gas pumps can’t operate. We have lost our ability to “make do” and survive in times of adversity and problems.
It’s quite possible that the COVID-19 pandemic has renewed some interest in our own survival and our ability to survive on our own but the baby boomers are getting older and are dying off along with their abilities and knowledge gained from their experience. Baby boomers and those who have come before us knew how to survive without computers, without special tools, without television and radio and even phones. They witnessed the advent of all this technology and the resulting dependence upon it. They adapted to the new ways and even expanded and improved upon the technology. Our ability to manufacture, retool, and produce goods and services helped us win many wars.
What is really important is that the US citizens need to realize that a house divided against itself cannot stand. We have a divided government. We have lost our individual autonomy and our ability to decide our own risk levels. We’ve lost our freedom of speech and association and our government has alienated members of our military and even many of our first responders. Our government has pitted people against each other – vaccinated versus unvaccinated, mask mandates, Trump supporters versus Democrats, and even groups of ordinary citizens who stand up for their rights being dubbed domestic terrorists.
I urge all of you…THINK. How much of how the government and this COVID-19 pandemic has directly affected you and your everyday activities? Has it kept you from doing what you need to do to survive?
